Come live at Dreamfarm for a Nature-Based Community Adventure!

We are looking to connect with others who would like to rent a living space at Dreamfarm and become part of our community.
Short, medium and longer term residential openings frequently arise (from two months to two years or more) when current community members move on to other things. Accommodation is offered either inside the large main residence on in a smaller self-contained home.
Everyone living at Dreamfarm is a valued member and active participant in our community life. Members engage in Dreamfarm's communal living processes (such as fortnightly community meetings), accept the responsibilities which come with sharing the property and have the opportunity to help shape the future direction of the community.
If life at Dreamfarm appeals to you, we would love to receive your expression of interest. Please introduce yourself via our web form. We will get in touch and invite the most suitable applicants to visit or video chat when living space becomes available.

About the Property
Dreamfarm is a 26 acre sanctuary in the Huon Valley Tasmania. The site features rolling fields and sweeping valley views, veggie gardens, a young food forest, wild native bushland, and a pristine creek and swimming hole. The land is home to abundant wildlife. The property is shared by the residents of the main building and a handful of neighbouring homes. Dreamfarm is situated in the countryside, 45 minutes drive south of Hobart.
The shared community building is a large European style chalet; both grand and homely with great facilities. These include a large well-stocked kitchen, an eclectic library, a multi-function workshop space, multiple bathrooms, a piano and instrument collection and wood-fired central heating. We have reliable wifi internet, making it a great place to study or work from home.

Rooms Available
A bedroom is now available for rent inside the shared main residence building. Rooms can come fully furnished or unfurnished. Bathrooms and other living areas are shared.
Rent from $160 per week for individuals or $190 for couples. This price includes electricity use, water, and wifi internet.

A self-contained apartment and a farm cottage also occasionally become available to rent.

Who are the Dreamfarm people?
At present, the community is comprised of a dozen of creative, fun, down-to-earth people in their late 20s and 30s. Occupations include a music teacher, a yoga instructor, a science teacher, a carpenter, a renewable energy analyst, a mushroom farmer and a librarian. The village shares weekly dinners, site work projects, yoga and other activities together.

What are our values?
We aim to nurture a supportive environment that inspires regenerative ways of living.

We value respect, open communication and cooperation, and responsibility and care for ourselves, our community and our planet.

Who are we seeking?
You are a creative, active person or couple, with a reverence for the natural world and interesting skills to share. You are community-minded and are excited about sharing space and collaborating with other passionate individuals. You are sociable, considerate and responsible. You will need to be able to financially support yourself whilst living in rural Tasmania and also have some time and energy to contribute to Dreamfarm village life and landcare.

If this sounds like the place for you - please send your expression of interest through our webform. We look forward to getting to know you!
